Please Pray for us and our baby

About a week ago, Cher had a blood test done to check for certain childhood diseases/conditions in our baby. The test came back with a 1 in 6 chance of the baby having Down's Syndrome, so we went yesterday for a Level 2 Ultrasound, which would show us more information that might tell us about the baby. The ultrasound revealed a condition known as Cystic Hygroma. In brief, a Cystic Hygroma is a "moist tumor" that typically shows up in the neck region of the fetus. Fetal cystic hygromas have almost a 50% association with chromosomal disorders such as aneuploidy. Cystic hygroma is strongly associated with Turner syndrome (predominantly a 45 XO karyotype), trisomy 21 (Down syndrome), trisomy 18 (Edwards syndrome), and Noonan syndrome. He indicated that it could "regress" (ie. drain) leaving extra folds of skin due to the expansion of that area. The Dr also believes he noticed a hole in between 2 chambers of the heart. His prognosis was that most likely the baby will not make it full term, and the pregnancy will naturally terminate.

That being said, we believe that God has other plans for our baby! We're standing strong in faith that God will deliver us a healthy child in March. We ask you join us in believing that God is in control and has the power to heal our child, and deliver him/her to us. If you'd like to send us a message, please feel free to click on "Comments" at the end of this message. God Bless!

Cher and Tom,

You have many hearts tuned in to the Father for your unborn baby. I can't wait to see what God has planned for you and this little one. With your strong faith alone, you are already a wonderful example of God's grace and I know God will honor that to bring others to seek HIM! We'll keep praying and believing God for His perfect will for this whole situation. Many, many prayers are being offered for you all by our music family. Know you are loved and that we will continue to stand by you.
Love you,
Karen
